About the role:
Within this role you will provide liaison between Aboriginal patients and the multidisciplinary team, provide advocacy and information for community members. You will represent the community at facility meetings.
In this role you will report to the Health Service Manager. Support will be provided with education and training with the on-site educators, as well through My Health Learning, and external education providers. All new and existing employees are provided with ongoing planning and support to further their knowledge and skills.
About you:
As the successful candidate you will have a positive attitude to working within a team and independently. You will have a calm and reassuring approach to patients that may need advocacy, support and be care for in a supportive environment.
Requirements:
- Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works.
