Join Rio Tinto as the Aluminium Value Chain Adviser, where you will identify, define and implement improvement opportunities that create sustainable value for PacOps.
Reporting to the Value Chain Manager, you will:
- Frame client problems using a hypothesis-based problem solving and “80/20” driven approach.
- Effectively plan, gather, and manage data, and then use analysis to reach insights and conclusions on key issues.
- Take ownership of a work plan – own the final output through setting specific and achievable milestones, while displaying initiative to overcome obstacles and respond effectively to changes in direction.
- Present recommendations and findings
- Build effective relationships with site and function teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, aligning RTSPS practice to become Best Operator.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in the Aluminium industry (preferably refinery or smelter), with a focus on value chain management.
- Experience delivering business improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with digital tools (e.g., PowerBI, Foundry)
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance value chain efficiency.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing complex data and making informed decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and recommendations.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
