About the Role
As an Assistant in Nursing, you’ll support Registered Nurses in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care across our clinical and residential settings. This role is contracted on a sole‑trader basis, offering guaranteed daily shifts and flexibility within our 7‑day roster.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support:
Assist with observations (vital signs, fluid balance, pain charts)
Support wound care and post‑operative monitoring under RN direction
Personal Care:
Help patients with mobility, bathing, dressing and toileting
Safely transfer patients using mobility aids
Nutrition & Hydration:
Set up meals, assist with feeding and monitor intake
Documentation & Communication:
Maintain accurate patient notes and handover reports
Liaise with multidisciplinary team members and family
Environment:
Uphold infection‑control standards to ensure a clean, safe setting
Essential Criteria
Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent AIN qualification) or Completed first year or RN nursing at university.
Current ABN as a sole trader
Minimum 6-12 months’ recent experience in acute or aged‑care
Up‑to‑date immunisations (COVID‑19, influenza, NDIS‑required)
National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent communication skills and genuine commitment to patient well‑being
Availability for a 3‑hour shift every day, including weekends
