Associate Director Tax
As an Associate Director within Group Tax, you will support the Head of Tax – Compliance and Reporting to deliver accurate tax effect accounting and tax compliance outputs for the NAB Group.

In this Associate Director role, you will
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of tax return calculations and tax effect accounting activities including month end close, half year and year end statutory reporting.
- Support the Head of Tax to deliver on key compliance and tax reporting obligations and the provision of tax accounting technical advice on key business transactions.
- Preparation of responses to information requests from the Australian Tax Office.
- Strong process improvement capability in both identification and implementation whilst maintaining effective controls and governance over these compliance and reporting processes.
- Establish and foster strong relationships with the Finance and business unit community as well as Group Tax.
What you will bring
- Strong tax technical skills with significant experience in relation to management of corporate income tax obligations, including tax effect accounting.
- Strong analytical skills - ability to transform complex financial and non-financial data into meaningful business insights.
- Effective interpersonal skills – growth mindset, highly motivated, strong stakeholder management skills, ability to manage tight deadlines and conflicting priorities. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight/direction however with the ability to identify and escalate risks.
- Financial Services industry experience, undergraduate qualification (Law, Financial or Commercial) preferred but not essential.
- Work supportively and flexibly with colleagues to ensure deliverables achieved in timely manner.
- Actively building relationships within and across business streams, functional areas, and regions.
- Experience in working with accounting and tax systems including SAP, HFM and tax software is desirable.
