Total Portfolio Team
The Total Portfolio team is a central component within Investment Strategy at Aware Super. Aware’s total portfolio model is a collaborative and informed approach to making investment trade-offs. The team partners with all sector teams including Infrastructure, Property, Private Equity, Credit Income, Fixed Income and Public Market Equities.

The strategic asset allocation of Aware’s investment options.

Evolution of the decision-making frameworks that inform and enable Aware’s total portfolio approach across our investment options
- Option-level management decisions such as foreign exchange settings, portfolio completion and liquidity profiles.

Your New Role
As Associate Portfolio Manager in the Total Portfolio team, you’ll contribute to the strategic management of Aware Super’s investment platform. This role blends portfolio oversight, data-driven decision-making, and cross-team collaboration to support capital allocation and risk management, while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation. It’s a hands-on opportunity to shape investment outcomes and drive operational excellence through:
- Supporting portfolio implementation, FX exposure management and automation of operational workflows.

Contribute to total portfolio governance, research initiatives and data analysis.

Collaborating with sector teams and internal stakeholders to deliver strategic investment outcomes.

Identifying process inefficiencies and drive improvements through documentation and resilience-building.
- Upholding risk awareness and compliance standards, raising concerns and incidents as needed.
How do you exceed our expectations?
- The idea of being part of our growth is exciting and you want to play a pivotal role in making super simple.
- Solid understanding of asset management in superannuation and RSE regulatory frameworks.
- At least 10 years of experience especially in portfolio rebalancing, workflow automation and database management.
- Confident and experienced in cross-functional communication.
- Extensive technical skills in data analytics and tool development using SQL, Matlab, R or Python, including AI applications.
- Proven ability to lead projects and work effectively across multi-stakeholder environments.

Degree-qualified in Finance with a focus on investments.
- You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn and grow.
