We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Life & Health subsidiary in Sydney which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally.
We are seeking an Underwriting Consultant to join our team. The role will be a permanent position reporting directly to our Chief Underwriter.
You can look forward to
- Assessing day-to-day underwriting applications, ensuring timely decisions within approved authority and adherence to company philosophies and procedures.
- Engaging with clients to understand their product and underwriting needs, collaborating with internal teams for effective solutions.
- Supporting consistency in underwriting and service delivery by assisting Medical & Health Services, Underwriting, and Claims teams, including conducting reviews and retrospective assessments.
- Maintaining high-quality work standards, risk and compliance, and contribute to continuous process improvement and up-to-date business documentation.
- Participating in learning, development, and marketing activities to enhance brand awareness and professional growth.
You come equipped with
Experience & Qualifications:
• Industry experience in underwriting function across both Group and Direct business
• Relevant Industry Qualification
• Holds a professional underwriting qualification/accreditation or is working towards its completion (e.g. ALUCA, ANZIIF)
• Intermediate level MS Office skills with clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
