We currently have an opportunity for a Building Services Assistant . Join our team at RCH and play a key role for maintaining a high standard of facility maintenance of the building assets and its services and ensuring a safe working environment. Reporting to Facility Services Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Carry out maintenance and repair activities, within skill set, to meet contract conditions and customer requirements
- Perform testing, fault finding, change outs, new installations, scheduled servicing and planned maintenance tasks on plant, equipment, buildings and fixtures
- Carry out and/or assist with minor alterations, modifications and equipment installations, as required from time to time
- Plan and schedule own work to meet required timelines and outputs
- Ensure risks are accurately identified, contained and appropriate countermeasures are implemented
- Proactively identify, report and eliminate hazards and incidents in accordance with company policies or procedures
- Actively participate in Zero Harm initiatives to support a safe working environment
- Assist in measuring costs, efficiencies, and service delivery, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively listen to and build positively on others’ ideas to contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team culture
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant Trade experience and knowledge of current industry standards related to building and trades services
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Competence in the safe use, storage and handling of power tools
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all stakeholders
- Flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts as required
- Professional personal presentation – well-groomed and presentable
