About The Role
The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a compassionate and driven Case Manager to join our Women Outreach Support Service (WOSS) team. This is more than just a job—it’s a powerful opportunity to walk alongside women experiencing rough sleeping and homelessness and help them find their way to a better, more secure future.
About the Program
WOSS provides short-term, person-centred case management and assertive outreach support to women over 20 (without dependents) experiencing homelessness across Melbourne’s inner-west, including:
- Melbourne
- Moonee Valley
- Maribyrnong
- Hobsons Bay
- Brimbank
We offer support for up to 3 months to help clients access crisis accommodation, short-term housing, and essential health and wellbeing services, underpinned by trauma-informed, strength-based approaches.
Reporting to the Homelessness Rough Sleepers Team Leader, this is a permanent full-time position, based in Flagstaff, VIC.
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.

About You
You’re empathetic, courageous, and deeply committed to supporting individuals who’ve faced trauma, marginalisation, and instability. You see the person behind the problem and believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a WOSS Case Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in providing practical support, emotional guidance, and strong advocacy to help clients move out of homelessness and into safety and stability.
You Will Successfully
- Build meaningful, trust-based relationships using persistent and respectful engagement techniques
- Develop individualised case plans aligned with client goals, strengths and immediate needs
- Facilitate access to housing, health services, mental health support, drug & alcohol programs, legal services, and community connections
- Coordinate case conferences and planning client exits with continuity of care
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the best possible outcomes
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, data entry and reporting
You Will Bring
- A Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field
- Experience in case management and assertive outreach
- Knowledge of homelessness, housing systems, and trauma-informed care
- Strong communication, advocacy, and conflict resolution skills
- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
- An Employee Working with Children's Check
- Current Driver’s Licence
