Case Manager, Study Melbourne
- Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role: until 17 December 2026
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 17 Hardware Lane, Melbourne
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified social worker (or similar qualification) to join the Study Melbourne Hub, Victoria and help deliver a suite of welfare support services to international students whilst they study in Victoria.
Working as part of a close-knit team, the position is also responsible for fostering a welcoming environment for international students visiting the Hub, giving presentations to students and stakeholders, and undertaking a wide variety of work across the team including project delivery.
The responsibilities of the Case Manager will include:
- Providing intake, assessment and casework services to international students, which are informed by social work theories and frameworks.
- Ensuring that all casework, financial and project files are maintained to high standards including appropriate levels of client contact, communication, professional documentation, record keeping, data collection and storage.
- Delivering services that are culturally responsive and support the empowerment of international students.
The Team
The position of Case Manager, Study Melbourne forms a part of the Trade, Global Engagement, International Education and Migration branch within the Industry, Trade, and Investment group.
The Industry, Trade, and Investment (ITI) group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation, and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience undertaking intake assessment, case planning and referrals within a well-developed practice framework including risk assessments. The ability to maintain client files to high standards including the management of professional documentation, appropriate record keeping, data collection and storage.
- Demonstrated and well-developed interpersonal communication skills that show empathy, non-judgment, discretion and an awareness of professional boundaries in responding to clients, team members and stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both promotional (presentations) and educational events and for effective casework delivery.
- A relevant tertiary degree in Social Work or other related discipline is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for this role.
