In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
- Working on both Morning and Afternoon Shifts, specialising in packing and making up our Food Trolleys (Carts) and Equipment for our customer airline Jetstar.
- Safely handling, cleaning, counting, sorting and packing items such as glassware, dishes, cutlery, napkins and other sundry items.
- Accurately perform all tasks and duties assigned in a timely manner.
- Safely use machinery once trained, in your designated area.
- Thoroughly understand and follow quality control techniques and ensure customer specifications are met per flight briefing sheets.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and productivity in your work areas.
- Raise any discrepancies in stock take (inventory) if any items are missing.
- Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed per specification, customer and flight
- Ensure adherence to Galley Loading Plan (GPL), Cart Packing Plan (CPP) and Equipment Loading Plan (ELP) as applicable to the role.
- Adhere to Company’s policy in relation to HALAL, HACCP, QSAI / Food Safety, Workplace Health and Safety, Quarantine and Customs as applicable to the role.
- Assist in other operational areas of the business as requested by Supervisors.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
- Availability for Afternoon shifts on a 7-day roster (5 on 2 off), full-time 38hr week.
- Experience of working in a food distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills essential.
- Access to reliable or own mode of transport.
- Strong numerical skills (accuracy counting is vital).
- Sound knowledge of Work Health & Safety and Basic & Hygiene rules.
- HACCP experience preferred but not essential.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy open plan kitchen, warehouse and storage.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
