About us

Vow is a cultured meat company on a mission to feed billions and create food that’s good for your tastebuds, your health, and your planet.

We’re bringing together cutting edge innovations in science, engineering, culinary and design to create new meats that meat lovers can choose selfishly because it’s nutritious and delicious, and we’re doing so in a sustainable way.

The role:

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff who thrives on solving high-stakes, undefined challenges and brings structure, clarity, and pace to everything they touch. This is an opportunity to help steer a fast-growing, category-defining company through its next phase of scale.

In this role, you'll report to the CEO as well as work closely with the rest of the leadership team to tackle the most important problems in the business, drive strategic priorities forward, and build the systems that will take us from where we are today to a globally scaled, multi-market organisation. You’ll have a front-row seat, and a driving role, in shaping how we operate, grow, and evolve.

This is a role with wide scope, high visibility, and direct access to a world-class leadership team, with alumni from SpaceX, Uber, Lemonade, Blackstone and more.

The experience/skills you will bring:

  • ~4–8 years’ professional experience with proven track record in a similar operational, Chief of Staff, or business integration role, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment

  • Experience in scaling functions, markets, or teams at a respected high-growth company

  • Exposure to or a keen interest in physical operations (e.g. manufacturing, logistics, biotech, or hard tech) is highly desirable

  • Ability to rapidly diagnose ambiguous complex problems and deliver practical, high-impact solutions

  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, with confidence influencing and constructively challenging at all levels, including senior leaders

  • Empathetic and ability to build high trust working relationships very quickly

  • Strong project management and organisational skills across multiple priorities

  • High adaptability, low ego, and a strong bias to action

This role is 5 days a week in our Alexandria office/production facility. For international applicants we can support visas and relocation.

You will:

Drive high-impact strategic initiatives (~60%)

  • Own and deliver cross-functional projects that accelerate growth

  • Stand up new commercial or operational functions from scratch

  • Drive international market entry and expansion

  • Manage capital raising and investor-facing processes

  • Take on undefined, urgent priorities and bring structure and progress

Run the rhythm of the Leadership Team (~20%)

  • Orchestrate leadership meetings, offsites, and leadership planning

  • Drive accountability and clarity around top company priorities

  • Create structure and systems to enable effective exec-level priority setting

Drive company-wide alignment and communication (~20%)

  • Own and run company All Hands and other business-wide cadences

  • Improve how information and priorities cascade across the organisation

  • Strengthen internal communication and cross-functional visibility

What success looks like:

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with the CEO and Leadership Team

  • Improve prioritisation across leadership team by taking ownership of both leadership and company-wide cadences

  • Take ownership of (and solve) at least one existential challenge for Vow end-to-end

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Launch or scale a new function, commercial vertical, initiative, or market entry

  • Improve operational clarity and accountability across the exec team

  • Drive strategic outcomes in partnership with CEO and other LT members

Within 12 months, you will:

  • Be seen as a key operator and trusted partner across the business

  • Consistently lead Vow’s most important initiatives, from commercial to capital

  • Help shape how the company scales, operates, and communicates at every level

Who we are and why join:

  • We are building a diverse, mission-led dream team of “Vowzers.” Our mission is to make food products for everyone. To do that well we need a workforce that’s representative of the people we serve. We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view - so we’re building a culture to match. Be yourself and come as you are.

  • Work on cutting-edge technology. We’re bringing together cutting-edge innovations in science, engineering, and food, to recreate the world’s most tantalising and unique culinary experiences. All without compromising on ethics or our planet along the way. Since our inception in 2019, we have held the title of being the first startup to cultivate meat from the cells of an undomesticated animal, been called The Spaceship of the cultured meat industry by Forbes and launched our first product under the brand Forged in some of the hottest restaurants in Singapore.

  • Work with and learn from the best. Our team includes some of the world’s top scientists, innovators, operators, and creatives with decades of industry experience. Despite our experiences though, we all strive to build, break, learn, and repeat. We see the impossible as temporary and strive to learn and support our company and fellow Vowzers' growth as much as possible.

  • We’re fully funded and ready to go. We are a growing Aussie biotech start-up backed by Blackbird Ventures, Square Peg Capital, Grok Ventures, Tenacious Ventures, P7 Ventures, Toyota Ventures, and PeakBridge VC.

Vow perks and benefits:

  • Everyone is an owner. In addition to competitive base salaries, each and every ‘Vowzer’ owns equity in the company so we can all benefit from our hard work and future success.

  • Generous paid parental leave. We offer 8 weeks of paid caregiver leave and an additional 8 weeks paid leave for the birth giver.

  • Generous relocation budget & support. Support for interstate or overseas team members and their families.

  • Unlimited personal leave. At Vow we recognise that sometimes sh*t happens. We don’t want you to stress about work when you need to deal with an emergency or are struggling with something truly difficult. We offer unlimited personal leave to empower you to truly bring your best self to work every single day.

  • Heaps of tasty samples from our culinary centre. Our fantastic "food inventors" on the Vow team are always cooking up new product prototypes, and all Vowzers are given the opportunity to taste, give feedback, and learn from their culinary prowess.

  • An awesome converted warehouse “campus” in Alexandria. Complete with a glass-walled lab, 2 factories, shower and towel service, bike rack, free snacks, a culinary centre and plenty of collaboration and chill zones.

  • Human and dog friendly office! An inclusive community and culture, in a welcoming office, complete with friendly “Vowzer” dogs!

  • A variety of social clubs. We encourage all our Vowzers to build the culture with us and share what you love by creating social clubs across the business. From book clubs to hiking groups, we’re always looking for ways to learn and engage with our team.
