The UGL/TasWater alliance are currently recruiting for a Civil Supervisor to ensure that construction activities on site are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project’s design, quality, and regulatory requirements.
This is a full time, fixed term contract role based in Hobart.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day to day civil construction activities on water and wastewater projects, ensuring all works comply with UGL/TasWater standards, drawings, and relevant codes.
- Implement and monitor safe work practices in line with WHS regulations and project safety plans, ensuring contractors and crews maintain a safe working environment.
- Inspect and verify civil works (pipelines, structures, earthworks, etc) to ensure quality, workmanship and materials meet project specifications and requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and representatives to coordinate works, resolve issues, and maintain clear communication.
- Monitor construction progress against schedules, identify risks or delays, and provide accurate reporting and documentation to the project team.
About You
- Previous experience supervising civil construction works (preferably in water or utilities)
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, standards, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work programs.
- Good communication and leadership skills to manage crews and subcontractors.
- Current drivers licence and relevant safety tickets (e.g. White Card).

TasWater’s Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is responsible for delivering TasWater's major infrastructure projects. These extensive, interesting, and varied works form part of TasWater’s $1.1 billion, capital works program that is being rolled out across the state of Tasmania.
The CDO is an alliance formed between TasWater, CPB Contractors, and UGL Limited (both members of the CIMIC Group) along with WSP Australia, to create the TasWater Capital Delivery Office. Our business delivers timely, cost-effective, quality capital works solutions to meet the needs of TasWater stakeholders, and communities across Tasmania. While ensuring the best long-term water supply and sewage treatment solutions are out in place, we are also introducing new technologies.
