We are currently looking for a full time permanent Commercial Partnerships Manager to join our Membership & Engagement team.

About the role
The Commercial Partnership Manager plays a pivotal role in driving member value, generating revenue, and strengthening our commercial partner relationships. This role requires a blend of relationship/account management skills, sales acumen, and strategic thinking to ensure the Law Society members receive the highest quality benefits while maximising commercial opportunities and maintaining brand integrity.
This is an excellent opportunity to take the insights of a recent commercial review and shape the next phase of our partnership and sales strategy. The Manager will ensure members continue to access high-value benefits from trusted partners, while also driving growth through advertising and sponsorship. You will coach and develop direct reports to build confidence, strengthen sales capability, and apply commercial thinking with members’ needs front of mind.
The team maintains strong partner relationships, secures new opportunities across events and publications, and tracks engagement and campaign performance to deliver strategic insights that optimise results for both members and partners.
What you'll be doing
- Manage and nurture relationships with all member benefit partners, providing a high level of service; and regular reporting on engagement and feedback.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure contract compliance, service quality, and mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Ensure member needs are at the centre of all partnership decisions, assessing suitability, alignment, and value of each partnership.
- Seek analyse and respond to member feedback and engagement data, from internal teams and members, to evaluate benefit uptake, satisfaction and strategic approach.
- Lead the development and execution of a clear sales strategy informed by the recent commercial review.
- Proactively identify, pursue, and convert cold and warm leads for advertising opportunities across multiple channels, e.g. print, website, and EDM.
- Create compelling, tailored sponsorship and advertising proposals to attract and secure event partners.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, consistently achieving revenue targets.

Maintain a deep understanding of the legal landscape, developments, and member needs to inform sales approaches and uncover new opportunities.
- Track and analyse sales performance metrics for partnerships, advertising, and sponsorship placements, making recommendations to optimise results.
- Report regularly to commercial partners and senior management on engagement, ROI, and opportunities for optimisation.
- Identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities, making strategic recommendations to enhance value for both members and partners.
- Manage and develop direct reports to achieve team and organisational goals.
- Work closely with colleagues across marketing, events, professional development, membership, and communications teams to deliver integrated campaigns and partnerships.
- Foster strong cross-department collaboration to maximise revenue and member engagement outcomes, e.g. work with marketing to increase engagement and revenue generation from commercial initiatives and in the development of marketing and communication plans.

- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts, commercial relationships and budgets.
- Strong track record of analysing engagement data and reporting insights to senior stakeholders and commercial partners.
- Experience in managing people and nurturing talent.
About the team
The Commercial Partnerships team manages the Law Society’s member benefit partnerships and drives revenue through advertising and sponsorship. The team is part of the Membership and Engagement Department whose function is to support the strategic engagement of the Law Society’s membership base and the overall marketing and communications strategy of the Law Society of NSW.
