DD&T delivers IT and support services to ASIC, driving major tech transformations in virtualisation, mobility, cloud, and data analytics to position ASIC as a best-in-class regulator.
The Technology Business Management (TBM) Team enables data-driven decisions by providing transparency on technology spend, performance, and value. Through financial analysis, costing, and governance, TBM aligns IT investments with business priorities and empowers informed, outcome-focused decisions.
The role
The Commercial and Reporting Analyst is responsible for monitoring and managing the financial aspects of ASIC's IT Infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Design and maintain BI dashboards with insights on budgets, KPIs, SLAs, asset/licence management, and contracts.
- Monitor and report AWS/Azure cloud usage and spend for transparency and accountability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead FinOps-aligned optimisation initiatives.
- Align infrastructure spend with business goals through cross-functional collaboration.
- Automate cloud cost reports, usage alerts, and forecasts for proactive governance.
- Enforce cost controls via tagging, budget thresholds, and anomaly detection.
- Analyse cloud cost variances and provide commentary to explain budget deviations.
- Improve tools, processes, and metrics to boost financial and operational efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and SLA/KPI compliance.
- Assess partner resource use and delivery quality; advise leadership on performance.
- Provide senior management with concise, data-driven financial and operational updates.
- Promote cost-awareness and FinOps collaboration across teams.
- Track industry trends and recommend innovations to enhance reporting and service delivery.
About you
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business intelligence tools such as PowerBI.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, cost optimisation, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of AWS and Azure billing structures.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, modelling, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with FinOps principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, FinOps Certified Practitioner) are a plus.
