This role is ideal for an early?career civil or construction worker (or a motivated labourer) who wants to build a long-term skill set in telecommunications infrastructure. We will invest in structured upskilling and tickets for the right person after successful completion of probation.
Based at our Welshpool workshop, this role will also involve work across Perth and Regional WA. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with overtime available on weekdays and weekends. As a Communications / Construction Trade Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the construction and upgrade of telecommunication infrastructure: towers, foundations, rooftops, compounds, pits & pipe
- Help with site preparation: excavation support, trenching, augering, backfilling, cut & fill, basic levelling, housekeeping
- Support concrete works: reinforcement steel, formwork setup, footings, pours, curing tasks
- Handle materials, tools, small plant and equipment safely (skid steer / telehandler exposure if ticketed or once trained)
- Support rigging and dogging activities under supervision for various crane lifts (if licensed or as training progresses)
- Assist with fencing, compound establishment, pit & pipe installation, earthing and minor reinstatement
- Regularly work at heights once trained and competent (tower and rooftop environments)
- Traveling throughout Perth metro & regional areas as required
To be considered you will hold the following:
- 6-12 months labouring, civil, construction works, landscaping or trade assistant experience
- Construction White Card
- Australian Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- National Police Clearance
- RIIHAN309F Conduct Telescopic materials handler (Desirable but not essential)
- High-Risk Work Licence (RB, DG, EWP or LF are desirable but not essential)
- Working at Heights Certificate (Desirable but not essential)
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and ongoing AOD Screens
