About the Opportunity
In this full-time position, you’ll be a key part of our Civil Maintenance Team, leading concrete repair and maintenance work from start to finish. You will have a variety of tasks such as operating small plant and power tools, brick paving, repairing bus seats, pouring and finishing concrete, setting up formwork and even managing basic traffic control when required. This is a varied role where no two days will be the same.
Your day-to-day will include but not limited to:
- Leading a team of concrete maintenance workers
- Using and maintaining tools, equipment and machinery
- Carrying out all aspects of concrete work, brick and slab paving
- Ensuring safety standards and procedures are followed at all times
- Liaising with other teams, contractors and the community
- Completing daily progress reports and assisting with planning
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who’s ready to take the next step in their career or bring their existing leadership skills to a new challenge.
What are we looking for?
You’re a team player who knows how to lead. You’ve worked with concrete before – both in-situ and precast – and know your way around a job site. You take safety seriously, communicate well and have a knack for problem-solving on the fly. You’re a morning person who enjoys early starts and appreciates a nice work life balance.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essential
- Current ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence
- White Card
- Excellent customer service skills
- Considerable practical experience with in-situ and precast concrete maintenance and repairs
- Demonstrated experience in the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Effective time management and organisation skills
- Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
