As the Credit Assessor you will analyse and make decisions and recommendations for credit applications and loan variations within Great Southern Bank's lending framework, enabling the bank to lend safely and in a way that supports agreed performance outcomes for all partners.
Supporting the Credit Assessment Team in the Operations Division, this role is essential to help Great Southern Bank manage our level of risk effectively in the key role of helping all Australians own their own home.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Analysing complex credit applications and loan variations.
  • Being customer driven and always determined to deliver better value banking solutions that enrich the lives of our customers.
  • Possessing strong analytical, reasoning and problem resolution skills, with the ability to consider and integrate a broad range of factors in structuring and making decisions.
  • Transferring your commercially minded and self-managed skills, to work within the boundaries of compliance and recommend commercially practical solutions.

Do things differently with us


To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • At least 5 years' banking experience in a Credit Assessment role or similar role, with experience in consumer mortgage and commercial lending being essential.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of established credit policies, lending standards, financial analysis principles and techniques.
  • Proven relationship management and stakeholder engagement in a financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated success in being commercially minded and self-managed with the ability to work within the boundaries of compliance and recommend commercially practical solutions.
