About the position:
QV Dental, located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team in a full-time, dual role Monday to Friday.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team within a modern, 4-chair general dentistry practice. Our dentists and staff are committed to delivering high-quality treatments with a strong focus on patient-centred care.
Experience in surgical and implant procedures would be a great advantage, but not essential — we value a team player with a positive attitude and a passion for exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organized treatment area.
Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
- A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience with EXACT dental software program is beneficial
- Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
- Attention to detail
