About the Dental Assistant - Team Lead role
Join our Oral Health team as a Dental Assistant - Team Lead, providing supervision, training and operational support to the Dental Assistant workforce across all sites. This role is jointly held by two individuals who will work collaboratively to lead the team, while each DA Team Lead provides focused leadership in their area of expertise. This position will focus on the Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD), ensuring safe and efficient sterilisation processes as well as performing 0.6FTE clinical workload within CSSD. Reporting to the Oral Health Clinical Coordinator, this is a ongoing, full-time role (1.0 FTE). Offices located in the Northern Suburbs.
Your Passion and Commitment will see you:
- Lead daily CSSD operations across all sites
- Deliver 0.6 FTE clinical workload as Senior Dental Assistant in CSSD
- Oversee sterilisation processes for safe, compliant reprocessing
- Lead, support and supervise dental assistants across oral health sites
- Partner with Oral Health Clinical Coordinator and DA - Team Lead for smooth operations
- Oversee clinic workflows, rostering and resource management
- Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services (while this is required, we welcome applicants willing to achieve this qualification within 18 months of commencement).
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or equivalent)
- Extensive experience as a dental assistant in public or community dental settings
- Proven ability to lead, supervise, and support a diverse team in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Solid knowledge of infection control, sterilisation protocols, and workplace safety standards
