The Executive Director of Schools, Diocese of Wollongong, invites applications from suitably experienced leaders of education for the full-time, substantive position of Deputy Principal at St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park, commencing in January 2026.
The Deputy Principal plays a pivotal role at the college, working in partnership with the Principal to:

Leading the implementation of the ongoing strategic development and leadership of St Francis Catholic College as a K-12 school.

Delivering strategic leadership and hands-on guidance to the team of Assistant Principals, taking a pivotal role in directing and supporting their work.

Fostering a cohesive and integrated approach to faith, learning and wellbeing across the College, in alignment with its mission and values.
This role requires a dynamic, values-based Catholic leader with a deep expertise in K-12 curriculum and a proven capability to make a measurable difference in driving student outcomes in faith development, learning and wellbeing.
The Deputy Principal is the standing deputy to the Principal and will work in collaboration with the three Assistant Principals to lead the ongoing development of St Francis Catholic College as an exemplar in K-12 education.

Located in Sydney’s South-West, St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park, utilises an innovative K-12 model of faith, learning and wellbeing. The College is an associated school in the Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) network of schools; a network which includes links to schools in the Edmund Rice tradition in India, Ireland & Africa.

Passion and expertise for school growth and improvement, and knowledge of contemporary research on K-12 learning, pedagogy and curriculum issues.

Proven capability to initiate school improvement in teaching, learning and wellbeing.

The ability to think and act strategically and systematically to develop creative and innovative solutions at a school and system level.

Exceptional interpersonal skills in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and presentation skills with the proven ability to liaise, collaborate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders. This includes high-order proven listening skills.

Experience in building teams and leading a team of experienced educators.

Experience in building successful relationships with stakeholders and working with consultative forums.
QUALIFICATIONS

Post-graduate study in a relevant discipline.

Accreditation for Senior Leadership in a Catholic School (Category E) in accordance with the ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
