This is a unique opportunity to drive impactful change at Nine, playing a critical role in cultivating a safety-first culture at Nine.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, Nine is seeking a Director Safety, Culture & Inclusion to foster a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace culture. Propelled by a new strategic direction, we're thrilled to be significantly expanding our People and Culture team to champion our evolving business!
In this newly created role, you'll manage a team of experts that lead initiatives to promote psychological and physical safety, enhance employee wellbeing, and champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), all while aligning with our values and cultural transformation goals.
Day to day you will:
- Lead the strategy and execution of enterprise-wide Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and psychological safety frameworks
- Champion and drive our cultural transformation, developing and implementing strategies that embed organisational values, foster a high-trust environment and enhance overall employee engagement in alignment with strategic goals
- Accelerate our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategy, leading initiatives that build an equitable workplace where all employees feel valued, respected and empowered
- Provide expert counsel and strategic advice to the Chief People Officer, Executive Team, and Board on critical matters related to safety, culture, and DEIB
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of SMEs, fostering collaboration within People & Culture and across the business
- Oversee policy, governance, and reporting, including developing best-practice for workplace behavior, managing investigations, and ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
- Utilise data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of safety, culture, and DEIB initiatives, informing strategy and reporting progress to leadership
Qualifications
You will be a highly experienced HR Leader with a wealth of expertise in workplace health and safety laws and best practices, coupled with a deep understanding of organisational culture and how to effectively drive positive change.
What you’ll bring:
- Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role with a proven history of successfully leading large-scale cultural change, improving safety performance (including psychosocial safety), and making progress on diversity and inclusion in complex organisations
- Comprehensive knowledge of workplace health and safety laws and risk management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and influence Executive Teams and Boards
- Proven ability to handle complex situations and drive change in fast-moving environments, including those with developing leadership capabilities
