The NDIS Support Worker provides person-centered support to participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), assisting them in achieving their goals, enhancing independence, and improving quality of life. The role involves delivering tailored support in line with NDIS plans, including personal care, community access, skill development, and daily living assistance.
### **Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Personal Care & Daily Living Support:**
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting (if required).
- Support meal preparation, feeding, and dietary requirements.
- Help with household tasks (cleaning, laundry, shopping).
2. **Community Participation & Social Support:**
- Facilitate access to social, recreational, and educational activities.
- Support participants in building social connections and engaging in their community.
- Assist with transport to appointments or outings.
3. **Skill Development & Independence:**
- Encourage and teach life skills (budgeting, cooking, public transport use).
- Implement strategies from NDIS plans to achieve participant goals.
4. **Health & Wellbeing:**
- Administer medication (if certified) and monitor health needs.
- Support therapy/exercise programs as outlined in NDIS plans.
- Document and report health concerns to supervisors.
5. **Compliance & Documentation:**
- Maintain accurate records of support provided.
- Follow NDIS guidelines, organisational policies, and participant rights.
- Report incidents/risks promptly.
6. **Communication & Teamwork:**
- Collaborate with families, carers, and allied health professionals.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions.
### **Qualifications & Requirements:**
- Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent (preferred).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- First Aid & CPR certification.
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle (often required).
- Experience supporting people with disabilities (desirable).

Job Type: Subcontract
Pay: $40.00 – $72.00 per hour
