Hairy Hounds Playground is a dog daycare, and enrichment facility known for our passionate team and commitment to the wellbeing of dogs and their people. We’re currently looking for a reliable and friendly front-of-house team member to join us part-time across three days per week.
About the Role
You’ll be the welcoming face of HHPG – greeting our clients (two- and four-legged), managing bookings, and supporting the team with smooth day-to-day operations. Shifts are either early (6.30am–12pm) or afternoon (12pm–7pm), so flexibility is a must.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Checking dogs in and out of daycare, sleepovers, grooming and walking services
- Managing bookings and enquiries via phone, email and in person
- Educating clients about our services and retail offerings
- Communicating with our training, grooming and daycare teams
- Maintaining a tidy, organised reception space
- Handling dogs confidently – both small and large breeds
- Providing high-quality customer service with a calm and friendly approach
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who loves animals and thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. You’ll need to be organised, proactive and a great communicator.
Ideally you’ll have:
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service or the animal industry
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Confidence working with dogs and an understanding of different breeds, health issues, diets and behaviours
- A warm, professional manner when speaking with clients – even under pressure
- The ability to stay calm with nervous or emotional owners
- A love for animals and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Experience in a dog day care, grooming, dog training or veterinary setting is highly regarded.
