About the role
Reporting to the E48 Development Coordinator – Sustaining Projects, the Electrical Technician – Development is responsible for supporting underground mine development through the safe and efficient execution of electrical construction and maintenance tasks. This includes installing and maintaining high and low voltage infrastructure, control systems, and communications equipment. The role also supports fixed plant maintenance during breakdowns, shutdowns, and installations as required.
Key responsibilities include:
Installing electrical equipment and services including HV/LV infrastructure, control cabling, and distribution boards
Installing and maintaining communications systems (leaky feeder, fibre optic, Ethernet)
Performing commissioning activities and completing required documentation
Operating equipment such as integrated tool carriers, EWPs, and scissor lifts
Supporting contractor supervision during construction activities
Conducting stock audits and assisting with procurement reporting
Ensuring compliance with safety standards and scheduled project milestones
About you
The ideal candidate will hold Electrical Trade Qualifications, an unrestricted driver’s licence, and certifications in LV/CPR, Working at Heights, and High Risk Work (EWP, forklift). You have prior experience in mining or industrial electrical environments, with strong technical knowledge of systems like PBE Leaky Feeder and Ampcontrol rockstarters. Experience using SAP is highly regarded but not essential. You must be safety-focused, organized, and committed to continuous learning and development.
