Salary range $131,053 - $153,213 plus statutory super

If you fit this profile, then you could join the dynamic Education and Compliance Team within the Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch at VIT with an exciting and challenging mandate to enable quality teaching, and provide for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
The Education and Compliance Manager role offers an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who is passionate about using their leadership skills to support VIT in its regulation of Victorian teachers. With expert knowledge on risk-based regulation, implementing effective compliance programs using an educative approach and conducting audits, the role will ensure teachers and their employers are complying with their legislative obligations.

About the role
This role will require you to develop and implement key processes designed to educate teachers and their employers on their statutory obligations, assist them to comply, monitor ongoing compliance and manage compliance breaches.
The role is a 2 year, fixed term role to backfill an individual on secondment. The role reports into the Director, Teacher Engagement and Registration and provides specialist advice relating to key operational priorities and risks to help inform the strategic direction of the Branch.
The Education and Compliance Manager will be required to
  • effectively partner with regulated entities and internal stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational outcomes
  • collect and report on program data and key strategic and operational issues.
  • develop proportionate and risk-based operational solutions in line with VIT's Regulatory Approach
  • provide leadership, direction and support to staff implementing operational policy and support functions for new and existing regulation.
About you
You will have strong management experience combined with a highly organised approach and a proven track record in leading the delivery of risk-based compliance frameworks in a registration / licensing in a regulatory environment. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will have
  • strong knowledge of risk-based regulatory practices and processes, particularly as they relate to compliance monitoring, compliance based investigations and assisting stakeholders to comply
  • excellent organisational awareness and an ability to translate this into effective risk management practices across a team
  • strong capacity in written and verbal skills, including the ability to present complex and complicated information for a range of internal and external stakeholders via presentations (face to face and online), reports and briefings.
  • ability to drive positive and innovative team culture and promote staff development.
