We are seeking motivated and reliable Environmental Services Assistants to join our team at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. These casual positions offer the opportunity to work in a supportive, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. Our environmental services assistant’s play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and patient care.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and hygienic ward and unit environment in line with Infection Control and Workplace Health and Safety regulations. Under the guidance of the Environmental Services Coordinators, you will provide essential operational support across the hospital.


Joining our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Highest standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres.
  • Ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
  • Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
  • Adhere to all infection control guidelines and principles.

About You

  • Prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is desirable
  • Availability to work morning / afternoon / evening and weekend shifts required
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as required
  • Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Proven experience with hazard identification
  • Understanding of hygiene principles.
  • Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available [Desirable]

Additionally, you will:

  • Perform all cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds and cleaning of Wards and equipment [Desirable].
  • Perform laundry tasks, decontaminate all bins, and securely manage the Clinical Waste [Desirable].
  • Identifies risks and hazards and reports promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
  • Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
