Anglo American Steelmaking Coal
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Dawson South is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin, near the town of Moura and a 2 hour drive from Rockhampton and Gladstone. Dawson South has been operating since 1961, making it one of the oldest coal mines in central Queensland with no signs of slowing down!
Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators to assist our mining production teams at our Dawson Mine. You will be required to operate Trucks, Dozers and Excavators. There is a number of permanent full-time roles available, working on a 7 on / 7 off day/night roster.
The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a record of working safely and a commitment to safe working practices. You will be accountable for your actions and output and also display a willingness to learn new skills and to work to the best of your ability. Along with a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives and the ability to work shift work.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives. You will need to possess relevant experience in large open cut mining operations. Dawson Mine is seeking candidates with experience in the below:
- Excavator (minimum 250t) with 2 years Experience
- Minimum 2 years Dozer Experience
- Electric truck skill preferable
