Join Our Team at Monash Club – Front of House Professionals Wanted
The Monash Club is one of the largest hospitality venues on the Monash Clayton University campus, offering an A la carte restaurant, lounge, private dining room, and exclusive conference spaces. Access is available to Monash staff, alumni, and their guests only.
We operate Monday to Friday and are closed on weekends. Please include your availability in your cover letter or resume.
We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Front of House Professionals to join our team and help maintain and elevate our high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed explanations of food and beverage offerings, including options for guests with special dietary needs or preferences
- Recommend suitable accompanying beverages using strong product knowledge and upselling techniques
- Accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders
- Clear and reset tables, maintaining clean and tidy service areas
- Multitask efficiently across multiple service areas
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of function spaces, including setup and pack down of conference and event areas
- Provide support to function guests throughout their event, ensuring expectations are met
- Work across various functions and events on campus, including full setup and pack down
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong sense of initiative with a focus on positive, efficient customer interactions
- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
- Solid hospitality experience, particularly in A la carte service (must be able to carry 3 plates)
- A professional presentation and high standard of grooming
- Knowledge of different function types and service styles
- Confidence in communicating with internal departments and external clients
- Experience following event orders and function briefs
- Flexibility to work across varying shifts, including occasional evening events
- Barista skills (highly regarded but not essential)
Additional Details:
- Operating hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Flexibility is required for occasional evening functions
- Must be available November and December
