Base Salary from $86,511 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Facilities Officer provides a range of administrative activities to support the delivery of the Sydney Medical School Doctor of Medicine Program in Dubbo. They coordinate all aspects of facilities, asset and resource management relating to the residential accommodation, teaching, administration, and student facilities and at the School of Rural Health in Dubbo. This includes managing accommodation bookings, coordination of contractors and maintenance tasks, and providing logistical support to the staff and students. The Facilities Officer works in collaboration with other members of the administration and facilities team and provides support to the School of Rural Health (SRH) in relation to their portfolio area.
This position will collaborate with other School staff to support and enhance student placements and multidisciplinary learning experiences in rural areas in accordance with the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program parameters, Murray Darling Medical Schools Network (MDMSN) Program funding and Sydney Medical Program (SMP). This position ensures compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls and ensures a safe working environment for all staff and students in accordance with The University of Sydney policy.
This position is located at Dubbo. Travel within Dubbo is a requirement of this position.

About the opportunity
Your key responsibilities will be to:
manage all aspects of the SRH in Dubbo’s residential accommodation and facilities for medical and other students or staff attending the SRH in Dubbo
coordinate all aspects of the SRH in Dubbo’s administration and teaching facilities requirements including maintenance, repairs, and resource allocation
assist the education team with orientation and induction for the new SRH students in relation to facilities and WHS
recruit and coordinate student representatives on behalf of the SRH in Dubbo
effectively time manage concurrent projects
assist with the general maintenance and bookings for the University of Sydney fleet vehicles
undertakes ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you
experience in facilities management, hotel services, real estate management or experience in a similar environment
demonstrated experience working both independently and in a team environment, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
demonstrated experience in undertaking risk management processes identifying, analysing and evaluating risk that may impact on the organization.
advanced computer skills including database creation and management and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Email and a range of Internet applications
compliance with the Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Health Care Workers) Order 2021
current Driver’s License.
