About the Northern Family Violence Program
The Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) is the lead provider for the integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan sub-region.
The NSFVS provides support services to victim survivors of family violence and their children inclusive of cis gendered heterosexual women and, their children; and people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer Community (LGBTIQ+) and their children.
NSFVS provides a range of specialist family violence programs. The service aims to support victim survivors and their children to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence while also addressing the emotional and practical needs and issues arising from the violence.
Your Opportunity
Develop and support an understanding of therapeutic readiness for practitioners referring to family violence counselling.
Supporting practitioners to:
- Enable the flow of family violence counselling referrals to the members of the Counselling Support Alliance
- To prioritise victim survivor voice and self-agency in the referrals made to family violence counselling
Advocate to services to expand their understanding of the negative impact on individuals required to engage in multiple service system responses concurrently
Your skills and experience
A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements.
