We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced female Support Worker to support a 13-year-old girl living in North Ipswich. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is genuinely passionate about working with neurodivergent young people and making a meaningful difference. The participant has a diagnosis of ASD Level 2, ADHD (Combined Type), ODD, and Anxiety.
Please note: Experience, understanding, and knowledge of ASD and ADHD is essential. Candidates without this background will not be considered.
Support Shifts:
Monday: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Thursday: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Sunday: Half-day shift to be introduced soon
Additional hours are likely in the near future.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience with teen girls with ASD, ADHD, and Anxiety
- Minimum Cert III in Disability, Community Services, or similar
- Confident in de-escalation and redirection strategies
- Current Blue Card and relevant NDIS checks
- Reliable vehicle and Open Driver’s Licence
- Female, aged 29–40
- Must speak clear English (Australian accent preferred)
- Must be local to the Ipswich area
Bonus:
- Experience with ODD and school refusal behaviours
Participant’s Interests:
She is bright, creative, and loves reading (fairies, unicorns, animals – fantasy themes), Lego and jigsaw puzzles, visiting farms and animals (especially goats), ninja parks and indoor obstacle play, op-shopping and browsing markets, swimming (pool preferred over beach), and collecting toys and themed items – she has a full toy room.
We’re looking for someone who can build trust and rapport, follow her lead, and support her during community outings and after-school routines.
