Industry Maintenance Construction Pty Ltd are currently looking for x4 experienced and qualified Fibrous Plasterers to join our Team in Darwin and remote when required.
The successful candidate will need to undertake the following duties:
Preparation:
- Assessing job sites.
- Prepare materials required for the job.
Demolition:
- Demolish existing internal partition walls and ceilings as required.
- Demolish existing building claddings as required.
Installation:
- Reading and interpreting plans to execute tasks accurately.
- Set out internal partition walls and ceilings as per the provided drawings.
- Installation of internal partition wall and ceiling framings as per the specification and
- manufacturer's installation instruction.
- Installation of steel studs, top hats or subframes for external claddings system i.e. CFC façade
- Installation of door frames and doors associated with partition walls.
- Planning plasterboard layout, incorporating insulation and vapour barriers.
- Cutting plasterboard, fibre cement sheet, acoustic ceiling tiles, decorative wall/ceiling or similar materials, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls and ceiling framing as per engineering specifications.
- Measuring, marking and cutting external wall panels, and securing them to the framings as per the manufacturer's instruction and shop drawings.
- Fixing standard plasterboard sheets on walls and ceilings, securing them effectively.
- Planning plasterboard layout, incorporating insulation and vapour barriers.
Creating Molds:
- Constructing and using moulds for ornate plaster pieces, such as cornices, angles, and other decorative elements.
Finishing Work:
- Mixing and applying coats of plaster to plasterboard or CFC panel joins and screw holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them.
- Smoothing and finishing plaster surfaces to achieve desired textures and appearances.
- Achieving seamless finishes on plasterboard joins for a polished look.
- Sanding using sanding tools and sandpaper ready for painting.
Collaboration:
- Ability to work in a team environment working with other construction professionals, such as engineers and builders, to ensure designs are executed correctly.
- Must respect project timeframes.
Safety Practices:
- Following safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintenance:
- Keeping tools and equipment in good working order and maintaining a clean workspace.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Certificate IV or higher qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu.
- Strong knowledge of plastering techniques.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Salary range is $76,000-$77,000 commensurate with experience.
