About the role
Reporting to the Director Strategic Investments & Asset Management this newly created role is responsible for leading and overseeing the end-to-end asset accounting and management function to ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
Leading a team of Senior Asset Accountants this role provides operational leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction to the team. It ensures the accuracy of the Fixed Asset Register, oversees WIP settlements, supports the annual capital planning and Strategic Capital Investment Plan (SCIP) process. The role also provides expert advice and high-quality financial reporting to enable informed decision-making. The role plays a key part in stakeholder engagement and capability building, ensuring business units understand and consistently apply relevant financial policies and procedures.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations, this role will provide cover for the Director – Strategic Investments & Asset Management.

Extensive experience in financial accounting within a medium to large, complex organisation

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business or Accounting as well as CPA/CA qualified and currently accredited

Proven team leadership experience managing and developing a high-performing team

Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders with a strong customer service mindset

Strong financial reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights to non-Finance stakeholders

Sound commercial acumen and understanding of key business drivers

Demonstrated success in driving and leading continuous improvement initiatives
