Finance Officer, (Financial Control)

Location: Sydney CBD
Salary - Clerk Grade 5/6: $99,938 - $110,271+ employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
Employment: Full-time. A talent pool may be created from this recruitment process to fill future ongoing and temporary opportunities.
About this role
Join our Financial Control team and play a key role in supporting banking and cash management.
You will work closely with various finance teams across the Department of Customer Service (DCS) and collaborate with our outsourced shared services provider.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing banking system management and administration
- Banking relationship management
- Cash management including cashflow forecasting
- Identifying and evaluating options to offer effective solutions for financial matters.
- Assisting in the preparation of early close and year-end statutory financial reports.
- Contributing to the review, development, and documentation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and guidelines.
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills and is proactive in achieving outcomes.
- Is deadline-driven, able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Holds a degree in accounting or business and is either CA/CPA qualified or working towards this certification.
- Has prior experience in cash, banking management and financial accounting (preferred).
