The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Finance Partner to join our high-performing team, supporting operational leaders and council stakeholders to deliver financial clarity, insight, and value.
In this dynamic and hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for a broad portfolio, covering financial reporting, council contract oversight, and performance analysis across operational KPIs. Your role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making, financial control, and forward-looking planning.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, including month‑end journals, P&L reporting, and management operating reports (MOR).
- Monitor and analyse key operational productivity KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to improve outcomes.
- Lead the preparation of budgets and forecasts (weekly and monthly), ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Liaise with council partners, oversee council claims, and ensure contractual and financial obligations are met.
- Prepare and review business cases, providing financial modelling to support decision‑making.
- Assist in setting and maintaining financial matrices to drive accountability and transparency.
About you
- CA, or CPA qualified, with relevant accounting and commercial experience in a complex, industrial, or waste management business.
- Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Experience with business case preparation, financial modelling, and operational KPI monitoring.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment.
