Are you ready to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Crumpets? We’re looking for a factory/kitchen all-rounder to join our small team. This full-time role (38 hours/week) offers the chance to develop hands-on skills in a kitchen environment with great opportunities for career growth with an emerging South Australian brand.
You’ll be a vital part of the team, ensuring that every product meets our high standards for quality and safety. Whether its making batter, assisting in cooking crumpets, or keeping our workspaces spotless, you’ll make an essential impact and play a pivotal role in the overall business’s success while working in a great team environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Maintain a safe and clean workplace, following GMP, HACCP, and WHS protocols.
- Measuring and handling of raw ingredients
- Demonstrate skills in operating plant and machinery.
- Mixing and preparation of dough and batter for cooking
- Cooking and handling of goods including but not limited to crumpets
- Packing, labelling and storing of goods for wholesale distribution
- Perform line setups, changeovers, and troubleshoot equipment to keep production flowing smoothly.
- Conduct quality and safety checks, maintain accurate records, and resolve any issues with care.
- Assist with product development and trials, contributing to innovation
- Participate in tasks like packing, cleaning, and general production duties, including lifting and moving supplies.
About You:
We’re searching for someone with a love for quality food, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit. On the job training will be provided however you’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have prior experience in cooking, baking or similar food processing industry's
- Have a sound understanding of the importance of good hygiene, PPE, and safety practices
- Attention to detail and enjoy solving problems.
- Team communication skills
- Are physically fit (able to lift up to 20kg) and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- Bring a positive, flexible attitude and enjoy working as part of a small team.
- Are eager to learn and grow alongside us.
Bonus Skills We’d Love:
- Qualifications in Food Processing or related fields.
- Prior cooking/baking related experience in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of inventory management or automation systems.
