About the role
We’re seeking a Fraud Mitigation Officer to help minimise Transurban’s exposure to revenue loss due to fraud by using their analytical skills to examine trip and billing data to detect anomalies and to identify patterns that may indicate fraudulent activity.
You’ll join an innovative team that engages internal and external parties in order to case manage resulting treatment strategies and to recover lost revenue.

Day-to-day, you will:
  • Monitor daily payment chargebacks, ensuring all identified fraudulent activity
  • Analyse trip and billing data to identify behavioural anomalies and suspicious activity
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely records of all activities
  • Prepare management reporting for key stakeholders, including the value of revenue loss attributed to fraud
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to support investigations and recover lost revenue
  • Monitor effectiveness of fraud control environment with a view to proactively identify opportunities to strengthen fraud prevention, detection and revenue recovery
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
  • Previous experience in working within a Fraud investigations, law enforcements or legal teams, ideally within a financial services environment
  • Ability to understand complex and technical processes, systems and workflows
  • Experience in analysing large volume of data to detect anomalies
  • High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent case management capability, managing activity across multiple internal / external parties
  • Proactive approach to improving fraud controls, with the ability to suggest and implement better detection strategies
