About the opportunity
Working approximately 5-6 hours a day over our peak period, we are looking for a seasonal casual Freight Handler to join our diverse and hard-working StarTrack team based in Paget, Mackay. With e-commerce booming, our freight handlers are the folks making sure consignments are correctly loaded so we can get deliveries out to our customers, fast.
This is a casual role, working across Mon-Friday, supporting our peak period until January approximately. This role pays $39.84 per hour inclusive of casual loading plus super along with a location allowance.
You’ll be
- Using your strong work ethic to help us keep delivering great service
- Handloading parcels and cartons from conveyor belts into trucks, ready for our drivers to head out on the road
- Unloading trucks when drivers get back to the warehouse
- Wrapping freight by hand or using a shrink wrapper (you know - like the ones at the airport), electronically scanning parcels and updating documentation
About you
- You’re fit and can lift at least 30kg repeatedly – we assess this at a pre-employment medical check to help make sure you’re safe on the job.
- You’re laser focused, even when the role gets repetitive.
- You’re a team player, passionate about helping our team keep the community connected.
