Position Summary
Provides member service, cleans spills, disposes hazardous materials, and responds to potential emergencies. If required pumps
fuel, swipes card payments and assists members.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Greets member and if required, swipes membership and payment card, removes fuel cap, and pumps fuel
- Directs traffic as needed
- Cleans fuel spills using neutralizing agent and/or absorbing cloth, disposes of material properly
- Performs/arranges for routine equipment maintenance
- Cleans station, including dispensers, data shed, islands, pavement, trash
- Loads pump receipt tape and ribbons
- Performs daily inspections of all equipment
- Research competitors pricing in the local area using private vehicle; keys report into computer daily
- Monitors fuel deliveries, signs delivery receipts
- Enforces National fire codes and Costco safety policies, e.g. no smoking, ignition turned off, no use of mobile phone while
- Responds to alarms appropriately
- Uses fire extinguisher if necessary
- Fuel dispensers, card reader, computer, 2-way radio, phone, fire extinguisher, and private vehicle.
- Assists with front end duties and in other departments of the warehouse, as necessary.
Education/Training: Higher School Certificate or higher
Licenses/Certifications: Current Driver’s Licence required
Costco Fuel Station Certification, Fire Safety Certification as required by state (prior to
beginning work in department), Hazard Communication (SDS/Spills), Stormwater basic
awareness, JHA, External Fire extinguisher training
Experience/Skills: Fuel station attendant experience preferred
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Problem solving and critical thinking
Basic math skills
- If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframes
