ABOUT THE ROLE
Mounties Group is seeking a vibrant and experienced Payroll Officer to join our close-knit team on a permanent full-time basis, based in Mount Pritchard.
As a Payroll Officer, you will support the Payroll Supervisor to complete the weekly payroll in a compliant, and accurate manner.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with processing and calculating the weekly payroll and ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met.
- Processing and calculating allowances and hours worked for all employees.
- Prepare and correlate electronic timesheets/records and rosters to payroll system.
- Preparation of payment schedule for wage bank deposits
- Preparation and filing of information for weekly reports.
- Maintaining and calculating all leave entitlements and termination pay.
- Setting up and maintenance of payroll records including employee payroll files.
- Processing leave application forms as required.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on current Enterprise Agreements/ Industry Awards and legislation relating to the payroll function
- Responding accurately to pay queries for staff and management in a timely manner.
IN YOUR TOOLKIT
To be successful in securing this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experiences:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong time management skills
- High level of professionalism with sensitivity to confidential pay issues
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines
- Conversant and proficient with the underlying legislation of relevant industry awards/ industrial instruments and Enterprise Agreements.
- Hands-on experience using an online Time & Attendance System such as TANDA and a payroll system such as HR3 Payroll;
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and its practical application
