Morisset High School is located in the beautiful south-western Lake Macquarie and is a proud comprehensive public school that caters for over 700 Year 7-12 students. Approximately 22% of students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, who are well supported by the Itji-Marru Aboriginal Education Resource Centre. School-based VET options are available to students from Year 10, and students in Yeas 11 and 12 can undertake School-based Apprenticeships (SBAT) while still achieving a HSC. The school has a unique learning partnership with Big Picture Education Australia and has five Big Picture Advisories in the Morisset High School Big Picture Academy. Demonstrated capacity to lead and model evidence-based and explicit teaching practices, foster restorative approaches and support student wellbeing, to improve classroom engagement and maximise learning outcomes across the mathematics faculty.
Demonstrated capacity to lead and support staff in improving student literacy and numeracy outcomes, advancing Aboriginal education initiatives, and effectively implementing new curriculum delivery to enhance teaching and learning in Mathematics.
Proven capacity to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team to drive school excellence, foster a strong culture of learning and high expectations, and inspire collective efficacy within the mathematics faculty and the broader school community.
Capacity to build strong community engagement and partnerships that enhance the school’s positive reputation, and foster community confidence and satisfaction in the quality of teaching and learning within the mathematics faculty and the broader school context.
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
