About the role
You’ll play a vital role in shaping and delivering HCA’s health, safety, and wellbeing strategy. Reporting to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, you will be a trusted partner across the business—coaching leaders, embedding best-practice systems, and driving a culture where people feel safe, supported, and empowered.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and embedding safe work procedures and compliance frameworks.
Designing and delivering engaging safety and wellbeing training.
Monitoring and investigating safety incidents, coaching managers on corrective actions.
Coordinating proactive health and wellbeing initiatives, return-to-work programs, and Workcover claims.
Supporting voluntary safety roles (e.g., Emergency Wardens, First Aid Officers, HSRs).
Leading communications, audits, and wellbeing programs that enhance both physical and mental health.

The Transformation group drives organisational innovation, change management, and continuous improvement across Housing Choices Australia. It leads initiatives designed to enhance operational effectiveness, streamline service delivery, and build capacity to adapt to evolving housing demands and technological advancements. This group ensures the organisation remains agile and responsive, well-positioned to meet future challenges and opportunities.
Skills and Experiences:
About you
You will have:
A minimum Diploma-level qualification in Safety (auditor qualifications desirable).
Experience across office-based and/or site-based safety environments (property, housing, maintenance, local government or similar).
Strong skills in investigations, risk management, and safety systems.
Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building ability.
Experience in wellbeing and return-to-work programs.
A passion for embedding safety and wellbeing into workplace culture.
You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
