Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at Western Power keep our specialised fleet—trucks, elevated work platforms, and equipment—safe, reliable, and ready to support WA’s electrical network.

As an apprentice, you’ll learn to:

About the Apprenticeship

This 4-year program combines:

  • On-the-job training alongside experienced mechanics
  • Classroom-based learning to develop technical skills

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain a nationally recognised trade qualification and be ready for a career in fleet and mechanical services within the energy industry

You’ll need to:

  • Have completed Year 11 (including passes in English and Maths)
  • Hold a WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
  • Be 18+ by 9 February 2026
