The opportunity
Vacenti is seeking a Full-time Housekeeping Assistant to join the Hotel Servies Team. This role will be required to work across our facilities located in Mount Gravatt East - Esida; Coorparoo - Casa Damore, Carindale - Lorocco, Birkdale - Sylvan Woods; Hamilton - Portofino, Victoria Point - Marebello and Cleveland - Sorrento. Reporting to, and working closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor, Group Housekeeping and Laundry Manager, and Facility Manager, this role will assist in ensuring Vacenti provides a clean and safe environment for its residents.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensure resident, and staff areas are clean and maintained to the Vacenti standard.
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, wiping down surfaces, cleaning spills and other cleaning and clearing duties as directed.
- Cleaning and sanitising of toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, sinks, and other bathroom, and kitchen areas. Cleaning mirrors and glass surfaces.
- Waste collection and removal.
- Operate all cleaning machinery appropriately, and in a safe manner. Ensure health and safety practices are followed.
- Outside & project cleaning duties as required.
- Ensure resident and company assets are cared for and treated respectfully and maintained appropriately.
- Stripping beds and towels, changing sheets, cleaning draperies & blinds, tidying common areas and residents’ rooms, and other domestic assistance, as required.
- Report all incidents, and any damage, deficits, or disturbances.
- Assist with the setup & pack up of events.
- Ensure all consumables and stock are used for the intended purpose only, used responsibility, and in line with Vacenti’s and manufacturers instruction.
- Willing to drive to our homes around Brisbane.
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Reasonable level of spoken and written English literacy skills.
- A personal philosophy of honesty and integrity, and practical approach that is compatible with the Vacenti values.
- A positive team-based attitude.
- Initiative and work independently.
- The ability to work in a busy environment and have good time management skills.
- Very high attention to detail and commitment to safe work practises.
- Willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and learn and cross train.
- To be considered for this opportunity you must have the right to live and work in Australia. If you are successful, you will be required to obtain a national police clearance prior to commencement.
- Able to work Monday to Friday (76 hours)
- Drivers License and a reliable car
