CMW is on the lookout for a dynamic and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team!

Due to internal movement, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting our project teams and contributing to a strong, positive safety culture across CMW.

We are seeking an HSE professional to join our QHSE group, which is spread across Australia and New Zealand. This position can be based in our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne offices. While you'll be part of the broader CMW business, your primary focus will be on the QLD, NSW and VIC regions.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior HSE Advisor to embed best-practice health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations. You'll be a trusted partner to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, leading initiatives that foster engagement, learning, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a highly effective communicator who can confidently collaborate with diverse teams to promote positive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) outcomes. While you will receive support and guidance from senior management, you should be prepared to take ownership of your responsibilities and work independently within your region.

As an HSE Advisor at CMW, you will:

  • Support project teams to improve their HSE performance through coaching, training, and hands-on guidance.
  • Monitor and review key HSE performance indicators to drive accountability and improvement.
  • Assist in implementing the company's HSE Plan, policies, and procedures at the project level.
  • Contribute to the internal audit program, including reviewing reports and supporting the close-out of corrective actions.
  • Participate in client meetings, site visits, and inspections to represent CMW's HSE interests and support compliance efforts
  • Support investigations of incidents, develop practical recommendations, and oversee the implementation and closure of corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and support on Return-to-Work processes, helping to coordinate safe and timely return-to-work plans for team members who are injured or ill.

You'll collaborate closely with project teams, providing the strategic insight and practical support they need to meet HSE requirements and maintain high standards on site.

Who we're looking for

  • 2-5 years of experience as an HSE Administrator, Coordinator or Advisor. Preference if you have worked within the construction, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
  • Qualifications in WHS/OHS (minimum Cert IV WHS; Diploma WHS or equivalent preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation across Australia (bonus if you have knowledge of New Zealand legislation also).
  • Experience in incident investigation, with formal ICAM training preferred.
  • Strong preference for candidates with formal qualifications and proven ability to manage workers' compensation and return-to-work processes.
  • Knowledge and practical application of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

Why join us?

At CMW, we value proactive thinking, strong partnerships, and creating an environment where everyone feels empowered to make a positive impact. Some of our employee benefits are,

  • Social and collaborative work culture
  • Additional day leave on your birthday
  • 37.5 hours per week, full-time position with flexible start and finish times
  • Personal novated lease options and employee discount platform
  • Office social events throughout the year
  • Support to grow and develop your HSE career in a fast growing consultancy

If you're passionate about safety, committed to continuous improvement, and enjoy working with people, we'd love to hear from you.
