Location: Melbourne, Australia
- Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients on matters related to the design of hydraulic structures.
- Leading or supporting the development of technical studies locally, including preparation of reports, calculation notes, and technical memos.
- Reviewing and validating specific project deliverables as required.
- Participating in and leading internal and external technical meetings with clients and partners, addressing technical, administrative, and contractual matters in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Organizing and contributing to technical workshops related to project topics.
- Coordinating effectively between client requirements and Tractebel’s design teams, distinguishing which topics can be handled locally and which require input or validation from central engineering teams.
- Conducting occasional site visits for inspections, as needed.
- Supporting the Business Development team by participating in client meetings, building relationships with partners, and promoting Tractebel’s technical expertise across various domains.
- Assisting in bid preparation, including the development of technical methodologies and estimating effort and timelines for specific tasks.
Assignment Scope & Workload Expectations:
At the start of the assignment, the workload is expected to be evenly split, with 50% allocated to technical activities (including involvement in the Snowy 2.0 project) and 50% to support the business development and project acquisition efforts.
As Tractebel’s operations in Australia expand, the role is expected to transition progressively towards a predominantly technical focus.
The position will also involve regular short-term travel (typically less than one week) for site visits or client meetings. On average, 50% of the time will be spent in the office, with the remaining 50% dedicated to field or external engagements.
