About the role:
The Intensive Care and Retrieval Stream Coordinator is part of the Intensive Care Network across the district – a high-functioning, skilled team that is excited to have you come on board! You will be responsible for working across all Intensive Care Units (ICU) within our district to ensure they are supported, and in turn, reducing variation in our practice. On any given day, you will be developing policy, undertaking quality improvement projects, helping develop and deliver educational resources, coordinating and facilitating meetings across the different units and streams within the urgent care network, and working closely with the ICU Medical Stream Lead and Retrieval Units to create strategies and solutions for our district. You will also be required to work within the five domains required of a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2; Clinical Service and Consultancy, Clinical Leadership, Research, Education and Clinical Services Planning and Management.

You won’t be working alone. The Intensive Care network, which sits underneath the Urgent Care Network, are a team that is passionate about their work and is engaged with wanting to create solutions and strive for better outcomes for our patients. You will be supported by the Network Manager of the Urgent Care Clinical Network as well as other stream leads. You will be provided with a face-to-face orientation period within the network and the stream, and ongoing professional development opportunities are available both within our district and across statewide networks.

  • Ensure that the patient experience is brought to the forefront of your work.
  • Have a team mindset and enjoy collaboration
  • Quality improvement experience would be preferred but not essential.

  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent or temporary part time vacancies.
  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in this specialty field. In addition the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in Intensive Care or Retrieval Nursing.
