What we will offer you:

- Remuneration of $2,463.50 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,956.20 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

Your new role:
This position is responsible for working collaboratively within the Parks & Strategic Operations Team to deliver high-level presentation for the City’s parks, gardens, reserves, sportsgrounds, streetscapes and roadsides.
Duties of this position will include but are not limited to:
- Undertake irrigation and plumbing duties including site assessments; develop and implement works programs; install, maintain and operate irrigation systems for sportsgrounds, parks, gardens, reserves and public areas; operate and maintain electronic and manual watering systems; and develop and implement maintenance schedules.
- Undertake gardening duties including establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns; planting; pruning; mowing; tree maintenance; whipper snipping; weeding; irrigation; soil and sediment control; rehabilitation works; chemical application; pest/disease control; maintenance of facilities; rubbish removal; traffic/pedestrian management; fencing; concreting; paving; and site safety and security.
- Assist in providing technical advice and expertise to the team in relation to irrigation.
What you will need to succeed:
As the successful applicant, you will hold:
- Certificate III in Horticulture / Irrigation;
- Class LR Driver’s Licence;
- General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card);
- NSW RTA Traffic Certificate – Traffic Controller / Apply Traffic Control Plans;
- AQF III Chemical Safety Certificate (Desirable); and
- Be able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, and effective task prioritisation.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation applicants are required to be vaccinated and provide evidence for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B.
