Optimum Patient Care is a not-for-profit, social enterprise, working to improve the diagnosis, treatment and management of chronic diseases. We work with primary care practitioners and specialists to produce high quality patient profiles that facilitate improvements care, especially for those with chronic respiratory conditions.
As a Junior/Graduate Data Analyst you will play an important role in providing support and assistance to the Data Analyst in the collection and analysis of data from Electronic Health Records systems for use in research studies and quality improvement programmes.
The role will be office based in Brisbane on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide support on database querying, populations, and reporting, using structured query language (SQL) and R.
· Generate reports/visualisations using RMarkdown or other visualisation tools
· Analyse data quality and generate database metrics utilising Excel
· Advise internal team members and external clients on study database(s) content
· Engage in building and maintaining data dictionaries and system technical documentation
· Run regular incrementations that collate data from Electronic Medical Records (EMR), patient reported outcomes (PRIO) and other data sources into the database
· Explore and improve on uncoded data collection using regular expressions (RegEx) for ‘free text’ searching
· Working with the database administrative team and external data extractors to ensure high standards of data quality with consistent data checks
· Utilise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and have compliance with information governance and company policies
· Contribute to data analyses as required for research projects
· To carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.
Essential Experience
· Experience in R
· Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), database processing and/or regular expressions (RegEx)
Additional Desirable Experience
· Previous work experience within a professional organisation.
· Strong in data analysis, interpretation, and visualisation
· Knowledge of application programming interfaces (APIs)
· Experience of working with real-life clinical databases/EMRs/registry data
