About the Role
Join the hospitality team at Amberfield, one of Australia’s premier 5-star retirement communities, where care, respect, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do. We're seeking reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hands to help our chefs deliver an exceptional dining experience to our residents—one clean plate at a time! As Kitchen Hand, you’ll be essential in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organisation in our state-of-the-art kitchen.
Role Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitising all kitchen surfaces, walls, floors, cool rooms, and equipment.
- Dishwashing and care of all crockery, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Polishing silverware and ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Disposing of kitchen waste and maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Following a detailed cleaning schedule, including regular deep cleaning of kitchen equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Supporting chefs with basic food prep—chopping vegetables, defrosting proteins, preparing salads and sauces, and organising fridges and freezers.
- Assisting with stock rotation and maintaining accurate inventory of kitchen consumables.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and chemical handling (or willingness to learn)
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and stay cool under pressure
- Food Safety Certificate (highly regarded but not essential)
